About Site Plan Control

Pursuant to Section 41 of the Planning Act, the Town of Grimsby passed By-law 22-51 to designate the whole of the Town of Grimsby as an area of Site Plan control. All classes of development are subject to Site Plan control under By-law 22-51, as amended, with the exception of agricultural buildings and structures, save and except greenhouses and help houses.

Site Plan Applications

A formal Pre-Consultation Meeting is required prior to submitting a Site Plan Application. Please visit the Planning Applications page for more information on requesting a Pre-Consultation Meeting.

Site Plan Approval

Authority to approve Site Plans Applications is delegated to the Town's Chief Building Official for all single, semi-detached, duplex dwellings, and additions thereto; and all other Site Plan Applications are delegated to the Town's Planning Director (for applications initiated after July 1, 2022).
