Verify Your Zoning
Before formally applying for a building permit, you are able to apply for a zoning pre-review of your application. This is helpful in catching zoning issues early, in order to make any necessary changes to your building plans before your submission.
After the review, you will be issued a Zoning Certificate, which is recommended prior to an application for a building permit. To receive a Zoning Certificate complete the Zoning Verification form and submit the required fees.
Please note that a zoning review fee is charged for all building permit applications, regardless of whether the building permit application has received a zoning pre-review. The fee for a zoning review is $60 or $80, depending on the proposed work, as described in Schedule C of Grimsby's User Fees and Charges.
Pay by credit card
If you would prefer to make the payment by credit card online, please submit the digital form by following the link below. Within the digital form, you will be able to attach the relevant plans and drawings for review.
Please note that a 2.5% processing fee for credit card payments will be applied to the Zoning Verification fee.
Pay by debit or cheque
If you would like to make the payment in person by debit or cheque (made out to the Town of Grimsby), please complete and submit the PDF form to the Town of Grimsby. Submissions can be provided by email to planning@grimsby.ca or can be submitted to Town Hall (160 Livingston Avenue).
