Grimsby & District Chamber of Commerce

The Grimsby & District Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer organization comprised of business and professional people, service clubs and individuals who believe in the free enterprise system and who use the Chamber as a forum for expressing their concerns, opinions and expertise. The Chamber is multi-faceted, acting as a civic clearing house, public relations counselor, information bureau and a representative at all levels of government.

Downtown Improvement Area

The Grimsby Downtown Improvement Area encompasses the area bounded between Kerman Avenue and Robinson Street, the foot of the Mountain and the CN Rail line. Its mission is the promotion, beautification and revitalization of downtown Grimsby. The Merchants of Downtown Grimsby are your friends, neighbours and trusted retailers who work tirelessly to keep the downtown as vibrant as possible and the destination of choice for those who shop locally.

Downtown Revitalization Project

The Downtown Revitalization Project is a partnership between the Grimsby DIA, the Town of Grimsby, the Niagara Region and the Chamber of Commerce that aims to enhance the downtown shopping experience for residents and visitors alike. The plan encompasses a community improvement plan, a streetscape design, a way-finding system, gateway features, a capital improvement strategy, a town branding program, and a retail assessment.

Downtown Grimsby Façade Improvement Grant Program

The Downtown Grimsby Façade Improvement Grant Program provides a financial incentive in the form of a grant to aid in the rehabilitation, restoration, and improvement of commercial, institutional and mixed use buildings within the area identified as the Downtown Grimsby Community Improvement Area.

Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC)

The Town Council of Grimsby established the Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC) for the purpose of advising Council on Economic Development matters and promoting Economic development and Tourism in the Town of Grimsby. The vision for the Committee is to support Grimsby's natural, cultural and historical heritage. To identify, foster and develop economic drivers to ensure Grimsby has the environment that makes it the preferred location to live and prosper while maintaining its heritage.

Grimsby Farmer's Market

The Grimsby Farmer's Market is just one of the initiatives of GEDAC Committee. The market was established in response to a growing demand by the residents of Grimsby to enjoy the freshness of "home grown" products from the Niagara Region. Set up as a "Home Grown" Market, our vendors grow their own product and take the time to answer all the questions of the shoppers at the market. The market features a community tent that allows not-for-profit organizations the opportunity to meet with market shoppers. Regular cooking demonstrations have been arranged between the market vendors and local chefs who feature products purchased from the variety of locally grown products available.
