About the Mayor
Mayor Jeff Jordan
Mayor Jeff Jordan is serving his second term as Mayor of the Town of Grimsby. Mayor Jordan was sworn into office on Nov. 21, 2022.
His political career began in 1997 and he served nine years as alderman for the Town of Grimsby.
His community involvement includes:
- Long time member of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture
- Member of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Citizens Advisory Committee
- Former member of the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce from 1986-2012
- Former coach of Grimsby Optimist Juniors and St. Catharines Dart Juniors
He was the owner operator of Jordan’s Garden Store from 1986 to 2012, and now owns and operates Nixon Farms with his wife Rebecca.
Mayor Jordan is a graduate of the University of Guelph in horticultural science.

Responsibilities of the Mayor
The Mayor is the head of Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the municipality. His responsibilities including:
- Presiding over Council meetings, ensuring that business is be carried out efficiently and effectively
- Upholding and promoting the purposes of the municipality
- Promoting public involvement in the municipality's activities
- Acting as the representative of the municipality both within and outside the municipality
- Promoting the municipality locally, nationally and internationally
- Participating in and fostering activities that enhance the economic, social and environmental well-being of the municipality and its residents
Chain of Office
The Grimsby Chain of Office was uniquely designed in England and presented to Mayor T.H. Jarvis in March, 1958. It was the Council of the Town of Grimsby who decided to have a chain of the office designed to represent the Town. It is worn by the Mayor during Council meetings and as well as any other events officiated by the mayor. The chain includes the following features:
- The Coat of Arms of New and Old Dominion
- The Province
- Maple Leafs
- Crossed Sword
- Grimsby's own Coat of Arms
