Below is a list of resources for Grimsby residents looking to stay cool or find some relief from the extreme heat.
Staying Healthy and Safe During Extreme Heat
Environment Canada issues heat alerts when:
- The humidex is 40°C or higher for two consecutive days
- Daily temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or higher and overnight temperatures are at least 20°C or higher, for two consecutive days
Public Health lists at-risk populations and ways to protect yourself during a heat warning.
Cooling Spaces in Grimsby
Anyone seeking relief from the extreme heat is welcome at the following Town facilities and outdoor spaces during heat alerts:
Beaches
- Casablanca Beach Park (565 N. Service Road, Grimsby)
- Nelles Beach (91 Lake St., Grimsby)
- Fifty Point Conservation – fees apply
