Canada Post Update - December Water Bills and Property Taxes
Canada Post has resumed operations, and the Town of Grimsby is sending and receiving mail again. It may take some time for mail operations to normalize, and we encourage residents to continue making alternative payment methods wherever possible.
Alternative Payment Methods:
- Enrolling in pre-authorized payment plans for Water bills and Property Taxes. These options are best to ensure that your future payments are always on time with no worry about penalty or interest charges due to a late payment.
- Making payments at your bank or financial institution, online banking or using the credit card option available on our website. Visit our website for more information: https://www.grimsby.ca/living-in/property-taxes/paying-your-property-taxes/.
- Making payment in person at 160 Livingston Avenue or using the drop box at this address.
Property Taxes: Property owners are still responsible for any outstanding bills. Final 2024 reminder notices will begin mailing. We encourage residents to reach out to our Property Tax Team if they are expecting a reminder notice or believe they have a balance. The team can be reached at taxes@grimsby.ca or by calling 905-945-9634. Please be sure you have your PIN number handy, which is located above the roll number on your tax bill.
Property Tax Owners on a monthly pre-authorized payment plan should note that monthly payment amounts will be recalculated for January to June monthly withdrawal. You can calculate your new monthly amount by dividing your total 2024 taxes levied by 10 to come up with your monthly payment amount. Notices delayed by the postal disruption will begin mailing out shortly. Monthly payment withdrawals resume on January 15, 2025.
Water Bills for Area D, including account numbers starting with 056 to 070 are currently being delivered. This includes properties located West of Kerman Avenue and the West Grimsby border, between the Lake and the Escarpment. If you have not received your water bill by Friday, December 20, you are encouraged to contact the Town’s Water Department to obtain the amount owing on your account. Payment for Area D bills are due by January 9, 2025. You can obtain information about your Water account at any time by contacting us at water@grimsby.ca.
Accounts Payable: Due to the delays with the resumption of mail delivery, please allow four weeks from date of payment for cheques to be delivered. Vendors can also enroll in EFT payment to receive remittance more efficiently by contacting us at accountspayable@grimsby.ca.
Parking Tickets: Detailed information about how to pay for an outstanding parking tickets can be found on our website at: https://www.grimsby.ca/living-in/roads-sidewalks-and-parking/parking/
