Town of Grimsby – New CLI-ECA Approval Process for Sanitary and Stormwater Alterations

The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) has recently introduced a new sanitary and stormwater approvals process, referred to as the Consolidated Linear Infrastructure Environmental Compliance Approval (CLI ECA). The CLI ECA is meant to create an efficient process for low-risk projects, provide clear, transparent and consistent requirements, improve environmental protection and establish a more comprehensive picture of sewage works across the province.  

All existing and future approvals are incorporated into two consolidated Environmental Approvals:

• One for the Town of Grimsby Sanitary Sewage System, and
• One for the Town of Grimsby Stormwater Management System.  

The Town of Grimsby began participation in the program in February 2023.
