Peach King Centre gears up for Expansion and Renovation

Service adjustments and location changes coming in advance of construction

Construction is rapidly approaching on the $36.7 Million expansion and renovation of the Grimsby Peach King Centre (PKC). This landmark project will transform the facility into a true community hub, with new and improved amenities including a double gymnasium, walking track, and multi-purpose community space.

Due to the scope of construction, the PKC will be closed to the public beginning May 13th, before reopening for temporary operations in September 2024, to accommodate ice only activities. The following service changes will be implemented as part of construction.

• April 30: Fitness Centre Closure – Effective April 30, the Fitness Centre at the Peach King Centre will close. An improved Fitness Centre will be developed as part of the project.
  
  
• May 1st: Customer Service Relocation – On May 1st, Community Services Department customer service will move to the Livingston Activity Centre (18 Livingston Avenue). Our staff will continue to assist the community with program registrations, facility rentals, and inquiries through daytime, evening, and weekend hours. • May 1st – May 12th: Limited Operational Hours at PKC – During this period, the building will open as needed on evenings and weekends to accommodate hockey and lacrosse programming. The building will be closed during daytime hours and limited services will be available.
  
  
• May 13th: PKC Closed to the Public – PKC will be fully closed and turned over for construction. The west driveway is limited to construction access only and select parking areas on the site are closed.
  
  
•  2024 Summer Programming – The Town is proud to offer its usual summer camp services at other locations this Summer. Please see our registration information for more details.

The PKC will reopen during the final stages of construction, beginning in mid-September 2024, to accommodate ice only operations. On site services will be limited and public access will be restricted to the ice-pads and changeroom areas only. More information about the 2024/2025 ice season will be released during the summer. Full project completion is scheduled for Fall 2025.
