Progress Continues on Peach King Centre Expansion and Renovation

Grimsby, ON – On August 19^th 2022 MPP Sam Oosterhoff was joined by Mayor Jeff Jordan, Regional Councillor Wayne Fertich and members of Town Council for the installation of an “Ontario Builds” sign in support of the Peach King Centre Expansion and Renovation Project. This comes as key steps move forward in the project including the selection of a project management firm and preparation to select a firm to complete the detailed design.  

“As Grimsby has emerged for the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a rapid increase in the demand for local community and recreation services” said Mayor Jeff Jordan. “I am excited to see the ongoing progress on the Peach King Centre project as we work to build a community and recreation hub to meet the growing needs of Grimsby’s residents for years to come.”

The renovation and expansion of the Peach King Centre will create a fully equipped community centre, with improved accessibility, indoor walking track, full sized gymnasium, community space and improved dressing rooms and arena spaces. As the detailed design begins, community groups and residents will have opportunities to provide input and feedback.

To support the execution of the Peach King Centre project, the Town has retained Colliers Project Leaders to provide project management services. Colliers brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this area of work and will form a core team alongside Town Staff to bring the project to completion.
