Short Term Rental Open House

Join Town of Grimsby staff at an Open House to discuss a potential Short Term Rental By-law and licensing program. The intent of the Open House is to collect feedback from the community and investigate the possibility of implementing a Short Term Rental licensing program.

The licensing program could require any short term rental and/or bed & breakfast to apply and obtain an annual license. The application process would require property owners to provide information such as insurance and an inspection by a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer and/or Fire Prevention Officers.

A short term rental is a rental no longer than 28 consecutive days of an entire house or unit, while a bed & breakfast is a rental no longer than 28 consecutive days of a room with food service provided.

All interested parties are invited to attend the in-person public meeting:

• Time: 6 p.m.
• Where: Town Hall, 160 Livingston Ave, Grimsby

Any person may attend the open house and make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition of a potential Short Term Rental By-law and licensing program. Any person who wishes to speak or ask questions of Town staff must complete the Delegation Request Form(External link) on the Town’s website on or before 12 p.m. (noon) on Monday, June 17, 2024.
