Statement by Mayor Jordan on Russia’s Invasion on Ukraine

Grimsby, ON –

Grimsby’s Mayor Jeff Jordan issued the following statement condemning Russia’s attack on the Ukraine:

“I, along with Council and members of the Grimsby community, stand with the people of Ukraine, their families and our Ukrainian-Canadian community in unequivocally condemning the senseless attack by Russia.

Russia’s invasion on the sovereign Ukraine nation is unjustifiable and is a blatant attack on international law, democracy and human rights that will not be ignored.

I stand with the Prime Minister of Canada and other countless leaders in calling on Russia to immediately end all hostile actions against the Ukraine and withdraw military forces from the country.

The Town of Grimsby has raised the Ukrainian flag at Town Hall to show our solidarity with the Ukrainian-Canadian community and to send a clear message that we support those in the Ukraine who are fighting to preserve their independent and democratic nation.”
