The Town of Grimsby Appoints a New Director of Finance/Treasurer

Town Council and Chief Administrative Officer, Sarah Kim, are pleased to announce that Stephanie Nagel has accepted the position of Director of Finance/Treasurer at the Town of Grimsby. The Town is excited to find a candidate who will not only meet the many demands of the Director of Finance/Treasurer position, but will also bring great experience and leadership to the role. Stephanie will begin her tenure with the Town on September 11, 2023.

Stephanie has over twenty years of experience working in municipal government including operating and capital budget management, policy analysis, and financial reporting. Since 2017, Stephanie has held the position of Treasurer/Director of Corporate Finance at the Region of Peel where she led a team of 75 and was responsible for accounting services, loss management, energy financing, systems applications development and support, tax policy and development charge financing. She also held the position of Treasurer for the Peel Housing Corporation. Moreover, Stephanie is a highly regarded member of the Municipal Finance Officers’ Association (MFOA) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). Previously, Stephanie held positions in the City of Hamilton and the Township of West Lincoln.

Stephanie is excited to contribute to the growing community here in Grimsby and is looking forward to working in West Niagara again.
